Stephen C. Cahill, FAOCD, FAAD
Board Certified Dermatologist
Dr. Stephen Colden Cahill is a board-certified dermatologist who has completed a residency in both dermatology and family medicine. Being the only dermatologist in the area that is also fully trained in family medicine, Dr. Cahill’s patient-centered approach emphasizes evaluating the patient as a whole, while caring for conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages.
Dr. Cahill began his education at Michigan State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and his medical doctorate. He then went on to complete his internship with the Henry Ford Hospital Systems tracked in general surgery before finishing a residency in family medicine at McLaren Hospital. After practicing in family medicine for several years, his passion for diagnosis and treatment of the skin drove him to return for a second residency in dermatology.
Dr. Cahill remains extremely active in dermatologic practice, mentoring medical students and residents, publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and hitting the podium for conferences giving lectures. He has also had the pleasure to be the principal investigator in clinical trials. His current areas of special interest are skin cancer, inflammatory skin conditions, hidradenitis suppurativa, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis. Although in general he is very enthusiastic about diagnosing and treating any and all conditions of the skin.
Dr. Cahill is a native “Michigander,” growing up on the East side of the state near Detroit. He and his wife, who is also a physician, have five young children who keep them very busy. When not working or spending time with his family, Dr. Cahill enjoys the outdoors, sailing, fishing, and Big Ten sports (Go Green!)
