Micro-needling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) option

Micro-needling is a more potent treatment than traditional facials. Prior to micro-needling, a numbing cream is applied to the skin for added comfort. During the procedure, thousands of micro-injuries are precisely delivered with a small, sterile medical instrument. Although minute in size, these injuries initiate the body’s powerful wound healing process. As damaged tissue heals, healthy new cells repair the wounds, creating healthier dermal tissue and remodeled collagen and elastin. Results typically include softening of fines lines, wrinkles and scars, improved pigmentation and glowing, vibrant skin.

  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), amplifies and accelerates micro-needling results. With PRP, your own potent platelet-rich plasma is used simultaneously. The plasma is taken from a small amount of your blood, which is drawn on-site before treatment. This increasing popular add on is know for stimulating more dramatic results.

LumeOne IPL Intense Pulsed Light

We're excited to be the first practice in metro Grand Rapids offering Lumenis One IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments. When our Board Certified Dermatologists heard insider buzz about how effective it is, they decided to learn more and ultimately brought the technology to Dermatology Associates’ Skin Renewal Centre. The system provides a major advancement over older IPL procedures that have lower energy levels. Our clients and aestheticians have been thrilled with the results.

Lumenis One IPL treatments work great at improving the appearance of aging skin on the face, neck chest and hands.

  • Dermatology Associates of West Michigan was one of the first practices in the country to offer the Fraxel Laser when it was launched and continued to break ground with the Lumenis Active, Deep and TotalFX fractional lasers.

    Fractional CO2 lasers repair damaged skin without the disadvantages of traditional CO2 lasers. Rather than remove the top layer of skin, like ablative lasers, they create microscopic sites of thermal impact separated by areas of unaffected tissue. The spared tissue between treatment zones contains cells that promote rapid healing. At the same time, each micro thermal zone penetrates deep into the dermis stimulating collagen remodeling and new skin.

    Each laser has unique characteristics and advantages, our physicians can recommend the right treatment based on your needs.

  • The ActiveFX, Deep and TotalFX procedures vary in intensity and are often combined. We use topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort during the treatment, with no anesthesia necessary.
