Leah Hooey, DO
Board Certification, Dermatology & Dermatopathology

Dear Patient,

We are honored and thankful that you are willing to entrust us with your dermatologic needs. I am excited to join Dermatology Associates of West Michigan and looks forward to providing you with the best care possible.

I grew up in Dallas, Texas. After completing my undergraduate and medical school in Texas, I completed my dermatology residency at The University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a part of my training at this program, I also trained at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).  I then went on to complete an additional year of fellowship in dermatopathology at The University of Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas with Dr. Clay Cockerell. I then practiced at the University of Florida for 5 years in general dermatology and dermatopathology while also participating in teaching and training medical students, dermatology residents, and dermatopathology fellows.

I am passionate about patient care and value every opportunity to connect with my patients on a personal level to better understand their needs, goals, and to hear their concerns. I enjoys seeing patients of all ages and skin types. My unique knowledge in dermatopathology along with clinical dermatology can provide additional insight into disease processes on a microscopic level and can offer a holistic approach to management.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband (a Michigan native who is happy to be back) and our three young children, exploring new cities and restaurants, and seeing what all Michigan has to offer. Thank you for choosing us for your dermatologic care. We are confident that you are in good hands with our team. We look forward to partnering with you on your healthcare journey.
